JOB PROMOTION? NO SIR

So I got a call today from Phoenix regarding the postion I had applied for as Lead Tech Rep. Unfortunately as I was told they considered someone else. Im a little disappointed because I was looking to further myself with the company as quick as possible. For those of you that don't know there are three positions I wanted to move with in the tech support department.
1st Technical Support Rep- These guys handle the incoming calls for any problems with the cell phone. We work through different systems and programming to get it fixed. This is me right now. About $34,000 a year. Not too bad.

A Lead Tech Rep assist the Tech Reps with questions they may have about how to help the customers. They also take escalations (when a customer assumes the Tech Rep has no power and tries to go over their heads thinking they will get a different outcome from someone higher on the totem pole) <--not the case. Also a lead helps out with Supervisor duties when the Supervisor is busy or unavailable. This is what I applied for basically a 5% increase in pay from a Lead Position. Then is the Supervisor position, which basically you maintain a team and coordinate Tech Reps and Leads. This is the bigger position starts at about $56,000 salary <--eventually where I want to be.

So I really just want to move up in the company, get to Supervisor and make some bigger bucks. I would also rather take calls from Reps as a Lead than the neverending incoming call nightmare as a Tech Rep. So I didn't get it oh well. The brightside is right now in my current call center I work 3 days off the phones as a Temporary Lead so I get to act like a Lead without the title till October when the center shuts down. Dad recommended I send a thank you letter to my old manager in Phoenix for considering my application. It was a great idea and I already sent it. I don't desire to be a Supervisor anywhere but I also don't desire being stuck 10 years in debt with student loans that I really didn't know what to do with. There is still plenty of time for me to figure things out. I am the only Steelsmith kid from my family that doesn't have anyone or anything holding me back. Maybe I'll pay off my truck and go live as a bum in hollywood trying to get acting gigs. Now that's the dream I was going for!

Held Back

My girlfriend holds me back from being a bum because she makes the steady paycheck.

That's a bunch or crap. Now...be careful in assuming being married or involved means being held back. If anything, the support and encouragement spurs me on.

well what i really meant was...

I wasn't really saying that I would get held back if I were married or with someone serious. I was just saying it's easier to screw up and pick up and move whenever without having to consider other people. But if you have to tell yourself that to feel better than god speed Jacob lol

Must be

a pretty brutal mistake to have to pick up an move. Is there something you're not telling everyone? Should we be watching America's Most Wanted more often?
