NEW JOB

So after much thought and debate with myself I have decided to stay in Washington. It's where I grew up it's where my family is at. As far as jobs go I decided to let the closure happen on me and be pushed somewhere else. I actually started my new job the following Monday after the closure. I started at Cardiac Science.
Cardiac Science is a big company spawned from two other companies merger. They specialize in the production and ssles of medical equipment used in hospitals, doctors offices and many other places. My roomate Jason started work there about a month before the Alltel closure. He worked at Alltel in the Advanced Tech Support department and quit early to find something else. I gave him my resume to get passed on and I was soon talking to the VP of the company through a series of interviews. I tapped my shoes and sang a little song and landed the job perfectly.
I'm still training right now.Im currently working at Headquarters of the company in Bothell, WA.The level I will be starting at deals only with Tech Support of AED machines, or Automatic Defibulators. A lot of people buy them and they help save lives. I have gotten to witness files it shows when the machine delivers the shocks on the graph and the persons rythym revived. Its very interesting and much better than cell phones. In november the company is sending me to Wisconsin for a week to train at their Burick product facilites to learn about ECG machines and more. I have been at the office for about a week now but what a breath of fresh air. I get a huge cubicle, my own phone line and voicemail. In the room are about 7 other people so its a very quiet environment compared to the hellish nightmare of a cell phone call center floor. There is full benefits and I get paid a lot more salary than Alltel.
I don't know how I will feel about this job in the years to come. But what I do know is I am moving up and getting the experience for a rewarding career.
PS Thanks to severance pay Alltel is buying me a laptop!!! :-)
