Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween From Cooper!
We had a great time at the pumpkin patch and took lots of pictures. I have uploaded them here.
Cooper's finally home

Cooper finally made his way home after 15 days in the NICU yesterday. I can't tell everyone how relieved we are to have him home. It's a big strain off our family.
We are very excited and so is the kitty!
Feeding tube...what feeding tube

Cooper had his feeding tube removed today! He weighs about 7 pounds now and has been doing full feedings on and off. They are going to try a different approach to his feedings, but because he's gaining weight and hasn't had any oxygen saturation problems in the last five days, he should be home by this weekend!
The thing about diapers

Cooper is doing a bit better eating most of the time. He seems to be consistently eating more now.

There is one other problem now though that is requiring treatment, and that is a very severe diaper rash. He has to be turned on his stomach and have his buns baked under a heat lamp several times a day. They think the diaper rash was caused by a more acidic stool due to the antibiotics he was given when he was first in the NICU.
Cooper is doing very good

Cooper is doing very well now. He does have a slight case of Jondas, but it's not bad enough to treat. We have been told that he can come home when he has no incidents of desaturation of oxygen in his blood, which he hasn't, and he is eating enough on his own to sustain growth, which he has been doing much better.
Cooper update 2

Cooper has had a feeding tube installed and will remain in the NICU until his weight loss stops and he's eating enough to sustain and grow. We just got word that he will be in the hospital for at least five more days, making the total time spent in the hospital nine days.
Cooper update

Cooper is in the newborn intensive care unit (NICU) for now. He was first in there because the doctors thought he may have had an infection. This turned out to be false, but Cooper is now not eating as he needs to be in order to grow and get strong. He is not starving himself by any means, but he isn't eating enough.
Finally here early

Cooper was born at 8:46 via c section because he was breech this evening. He was born at 35 weeks and 3 days, weighed 6 pounds 5 ounces, was 19 and one quarter inches, scored a nine of nine and is A positive. That's right, getting an a+ before he was even born.
Our boy will be here by ten

Unfortunately, the baby is breech so a c section will have to be performed. This will happen around 9 pm tonight. There are some advantages and some disadvantages but I guess we don't have a choice. I can't wait. :-)
